Rear Axle Stubb

last year we replaced rear axle bearing, pass side. But the stubb had worn with the broken bearings.
I see on ebay you can buy a new bearing kit with replacement stubb..........how can the old stubb be removed and can it be done on ramp without the whole axle being dropped?
