Afternoon guys,
Well after my intermediate bearing replacing you guys were so good with helping now I'm asking about a timing belt change on a DW8B WYJ Engine,(2006)
I have a Haynes manual which I have been going though and a few other Youtube videos, as I like to make sure I 100% know what I'm going to have to encounter when I do it.
I've only ever done one Timing Belt before on a Toyota Hilux which is pretty much two …So pretty basic.
Anyway,
Firstly, according to the Haynes manual, my crack shaft pull under the '1.9 Engines' That the spocket in 'Floating' and that I would need to remove four crackshaft pulley retaining bolts.
A picture of my crankshaft follow is posted below. Just a single bolt?
Next,
Been looking at an Youtube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8efU4dzH0NY
Now the Haynes manual mentions about slackening the 3 securing bolts to the Camshaft and Injection pump sprockets for removal and resitting. How important is this? and how should they move once I have locked in the Flywheel, Camshaft and Injection sprocket? surely the locking holes...Lock everything?
Was wondering if an someone could give me a rundown of it here, Cause I feel the Haynes manual is leaving me with more questions than answers.
Thanks
N
