1.6HDI 75 bigger turbo (from 90, 1xx)?

A friend of mine who is a mechanic had to replace the engine in a Peugeot 3008 last week, he used the engine out of a Berlingo M59 if I'm not mistaken. Both 1.6HDI, but I don't now the hp figures.

On the first test drive he experienced a lack of power. Out of convenience he had also used the turbo that came out of the Berlingo, but upon closer inspection noticed that the turbo from the 3008 was a little bit bigger. After swapping the turbo to the 3008 model, the power and torque where there.

It made me thinking... Could I perhaps use the turbo from a 90hp or 1xxhp model without any mapping?
I have an emptied out cat waiting to be installed (from that same Berlingo Smile ), a plug & play turbo upgrade would also be a faily cheap and easy power upgrade.

TAILGATE LOCKING PROBLEM

Hi all,i have looked through threads for my problem, but did not find what i was looking for.My tailgate is not locking with fob or with the key ??? when i finally lock it (after quite a few minutes) I cant open it with fob or key, and vice versa, all other doors are ok !i have had door card off removed the papery cover looked in and couldn't see nothing wrong ??? all the locking and opening noises are there,the lever is moving left and right,but doesn't lock and open properly,i have given it a good spray with WD 40 but still no joy , can anyone shed any light on my problem please , THANKS Gwyn

Diesel fan in Petrol engine?

Hi there,

I have a 2003, Berlingo Multispace and the radiator fan doesn't work. I bought a new one to have fitted but the mechanic who was working on it said that it actually has a fan for a diesel and not a petrol - which meant that the fan I bought didn't fit. I now have no idea which fan I need to get.

I have no idea about cars at all and was wondering if this is something that anyone has had experience with?

Have message Front drivers door open .. On Dash computer scrolling across . and also had problems with central locking. any ideas more than welcome .. also speedo stops working for a while and then starts working again after a few minutes  Angry Fustrating

Hi. My dear old Berlingo 2.0ltr HDI has a judder when idling. Been told this is due to a worn Dual Mass Flywheel by one garage and 'Could be an engine mount' by another.
Does the 2.0 ltr Diesel have a DMF? Many Thanks.

Front camber out of alignment after wheel size change

Hi folks,

Since I swapped my M59 14 Inch steels  (175/70/14) for 15 Inch 205gti speedlines (195/60/15), the front camber went out of alignment and after I took it to the best alignment shop, they let me know that there was nothing they could do to correct it as it is not adjustable. I followed up with the guy who sold me the rims coz he had also done swap from 15 inch to 16 Inch and he told me that he faced the same problem, but when he lowered the rear suspension at the torsion bars and redid alignment, it turned out fine.

Just to add on that, it appears that there is a possibility that our local M59's were factory raised at the rear as they appear slanting front-wards with the front closer to the ground than what I see on photos from other parts of the world, but I have no official information to back that up.

Can anybody confirm if lowering the rear suspension is the way to go to correct the camber or is it a waste of effort? Your expert opinion is highly coveted.

Cruise control possible or not, how to check?

So I'm considering adding cruise control to my '06 M59 1.6HDI (9HV DV6BTED4)

I talked to the local dealership and it would cost me €9x for the stalk and €25 for coding, very reasonable if you ask me. The only thing was, even they couldn't guarantee me beforehand that it will work in my car, something to do with the BSI?

Is there any way for me to check if it will work? I thought I've read something about plugs in the wiring loom (not) being there as an indicator?

1.9 dw8 to b 1.8 xud engine swap

Hi, I bought a real clean 2003 1.9 berlingo but it had a stuffed  engine. I have a rotten mk1 berlingo but it has a real good engine so the plan was to swap the dw8 with the xud. All went to plan until I realised that the xud has a pull clutch arm and the dw8 has a push. No worries swap the boxes so now the xud has a dw8 box. Thought it would be simpler than changing cables ect. Now went to get a timing belt kit for the xud when realised its actually a 1.8xud and not a 1.9. No problems Im thinking its the same block so everything is bound to line up. Nah it dont, the bottom mount/driveshaft mount doesn't fit on the xud block and the xud one sits too high for the driveshaft to enter the diff. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any other mount for the pug/cit range fit?  Thanks in advance.

Window mechanism replacement.. ebay unit seems different

The mechanism in my drivers door decided to mangle itself, so I bought a replacement from ebay. The new one came with no motor, so I just needed to swap the motor from the old one. simple? er, no. 
They seem totally different. The new unit has a similar size gear, but its recessed and none of the motor holes line up. 
I took 2 photos. One of the original motor and one of the new mechanism. 
Does anyone know how this goes together?

Dead BSI unit?

I'm trying to repair a 2003 hdi. When the battery is connected, the headlights come on. There's no diesel heater light and the engine won't start. Also the hazards/indicators/wipers/radio controls don't work. oh and the odometer display is dead. 
Occasionally it'll fix itself and can be driven. But then it goes wrong again.

A 'specialist' advised to replace the steering wheel stalk unit (basically all the steering wheel controls in one go). That didn't work.

Any ideas?

Removing Fuel tank/ sender unit faulty ??

Anyone here ever had a problem with the sender unit located in the fuel tank ?

I think it may be whats causing the fault with my van,
Its alternating between surging and loosing power but only happens when the tank is a quarter or less empty.
When i fill her up the problem vanishes.

Anyone removed the fuel tank before, hard/easy job ?

2004 2.0HDi Cruise Control - Lexia or Diagbox?

Sorry for yet another CC thread, I've read most, if not all of them here and on other forums and I'm about to try & fit CC to my '04 2.0  This is my first 'modern' Citroen, and my first look at Diagbox / Lexia so I'm really in the dark about how best to proceed.

Everything I've read indicates that it'll work on a M59 2.0 HDI, so it's just a question of the best way to go about it.

It has the radio remote buttons on the steering column so Com2000 is installed
I've bought a CC stalk, just waiting for it to arrive.
I checked and there's a switch on the clutch pedal
From what I understand, there's only 1 switch on the brake pedal on these models so that's there.

I have an offer from a Pug owner to use his Diagbox 7.62 to configure things, and here's where the uncertainty starts:

According to a guide kindly written on this forum, the way to do things via Diagbox, but it's for a B9 as opposed to my M59, so is the procedure the same, or do I need to drop down into Lexia and make the changes in the 2(?) locations I've read about elsewhere.

Radio not working and electrics

hi all im new to this forum, I bought a 04 plate berlingo 1.9D and ive had a few problems with it. The first is the radio doesn't work - no power nothing all the fuses seem ok ive had it out and the wires seem ok, all other electrics work as should in centre console. 2nd problem is when driving no warning lights during the day when I put my headlights on I get the handbrake light on and the coolant level light on??? not sure why these are on only when the headlights are on??

Also got a load of what looks and feels like oil in the coolant tank but no sign of head gasket failure???

Hi all,

Currently running a DW8 dog.

SO....I've sourced a professionally built 1.4 TU engine from a 106 that is putting out 132 bhp.

It has stand alone management, comes with pressure regulator & uprated clutch. I'm also getting the matched 4 into 1 manifold and de-cat pipe.

What I am wondering is...

Are diesel and petrol fuel lines the same, this is from a connector point of view. If I flush them, will they plug in to the TU engine system? Am I also right in presuming that I will have to wire in and fit an in tank pump as the diesel will rely solely on the Lucas pump?

A suitable gearbox is giving me nightmares. Am I right in thinking that a gearbox from a Berlingo 1.4 will work, would think it should do as it's the same engine. And on the same vein, an engine mount should easily be found.

I'm sure there are more questions, but that's all for now!

Rear axle refurbished recommendations ?

Rear right hand Torsion bar snapped while driving yesterday. 

Made a very satisfying noise and put the shits right up the wife . I was driving and pretty much knew what was going on so no panic. 

Guessing a refurbished axle is the way to go. I see ab axles and I'm axles offering refurbished for 250-300 and that the legend Fraser brown no longer offers this service.

Has anyone been impressed or not impressed by a particular supplier ? 

First trick for today is to get some hi pen and heat on the 4 chassis mounts and check its going to come off without a war 

The slammed look suits it how ever my spine says NO

Gears / Clutch problems

Hi

I have a 2007 Diesel Multispace.   For a little while not the clutch has been slipping, but only slightly, and only every now and then.  We asked our local garage if the clutch needed to be replaced and they suggested leaving it for a while as it was not causing much of a problem.

Today, the gears seem to have moved position... Reverse is now straight down, where 4th would usually be.  Second and fourth are now off to the left.  5th is straight up, and 1st and 3rd are off to the left.   So it's like everything has moved to the left.

It can be driven, and all gears can be selected, although it's a little sticky.

So, what I want to know is what could the problem be here?  Am I looking at a new gearbox and clutch?

Anyone know roughly how much the gearbox costs to be replaced?

squealing/grinding reverse only?

I fitted a new clutch kit and after around 30 miles with no problems I have now noticed a squealing/grinding noise in reverse only.
It sounds like metal on metal I have been told its my release bearing but since it is new and seemed to have no defects when I checked before fitting I don't think it is.  It happens when moving off in reverse only when slowly engaging the clutch.

Ongoing non-start 'fun' with a 2003 Berlingo Multispace 1.9D !!

Having decided that the only hope is to purchase a Lexia, I'm having a massive problem with finding one of the clones that will work with the above model.

Every seller I've asked, bar one, says that the Chinese clones they sell will not work with the 2003 model: The one that says it will work is selling one that looks, and has a specification that is, identical to all the others.

Can anyone please enlighten me as to whether there is a clone that will work with a 2003 Berlingo Multispace 1.9D and, if not, what the problem is ?

Is it all about the FULL CHIP part?
Having said that, some of the suppliers of the full chip versions say that they will NOT WORK with the 2003 model !

slow to finish reading data on dashboard

sorry.. hard to give this a title!

2.0 hdi 2004/5 blingo.

i was told when i first bought my blingo to wait for dashboard readout to show mileage, i.e. after oil level is show.

mine takes between 30 secs and a minute to do so.

i only ever had petrol citroens before so i took the mechanics advice.

1: should it be slow?
2: if no.. any idea why?

Hi guys, here's the problem...
Engine warning light is on but my odbii code reader says there are no faults. Is it a crappy code reader or a dodgy dash light?

Any clues?
